Resting After the Day’s Catch
Resting After the Day’s Catch presents a quiet scene framed by the rhythms of coastal life. A solitary wooden boat, marked by blue and white stripes, sits moored at a weathered pier. Fishing nets, accented with red and blue floats, are neatly arranged on the dock’s surface, signalling the end of a day’s work. The water is still, mirroring the soft blues and subtle light of an open sky. Surrounding hills, dotted with sparse buildings and lush trees, form a gentle boundary that enhances the sense of calm and balance in the composition. The piece captures a moment where nature and human presence coexist with quiet ease, inviting reflection on the simple, steady flow of daily life by the sea.

Portrait of Warmth and Whisper
Portrait of Warmth and Whispers presents an intimate gathering, centred on a closely connected group of four people—Claire, Chris, Stella, and Ruby—and a white dog named Luna. The composition invites the viewer into a moment filled with quiet affection and togetherness, highlighted by the gentle interplay of their expressions and gestures.

Stillness in The Golden Hour
The inspiration for this piece came directly from an afternoon by a still lake, a time when the world seems to pause softly between day and evening. It was this precise atmosphere—a harmony of light, water, and quiet observation—that I wanted to translate onto the canvas.

Jester on Wheels
What shaped “Jester on Wheels” was a desire to capture the essence of performance—how movement and colour combine to kindle a feeling of lightness and spirited possibility. There was a distinct challenge and reward in working on an aluminium panel, using acrylic to create crisp edges and rich textures, and employing contour cutting along the edges to enhance the work’s presence and definition. This technique allowed the piece to engage with light and space in ways that a traditional canvas might not, adding to its lively character.

Carnival of Colours
“Carnival of Colours” is an ode to the exuberance that lives within us all—the childlike wonder, the fearless play, and the bold spirit unafraid to wear its heart on its sleeve. In a world often too grey and hurried, this piece reminds us to slow down and immerse ourselves in the joyous spectacle of life’s vivid moments.

Simple Pleasures
"Simple Pleasures" is a celebration of life’s artfulness—a tapestry of tastes, textures, and the beauty found in savouring the present moment. Each aspect of this 20.5 cm by 25.5 cm oil on canvas painting is a testament to the richness of simplicity, inviting you into an intimate tableau where the ordinary transforms into the extraordinary.

Lost
Announcing "Lost," my latest piece. This work captures a tranquil beach scene with a wooden boat resting on a grassy shore, against a serene ocean horizon. The soft blues and warm sky reflect calm and solitude. Inspired by the peace of nature, "Lost" invites you to pause and find stillness. I hope this piece offers a moment of quiet reflection.

Where I Come From
My journey as an artist began, as with so many children, with a love of drawing. In fact, all kinds of manual and construction activities attracted me as a child. My parents, recognizing my natural artistic flair, sent me to a fine arts school for several years until I was about seventeen. The experience was pure joy. I loved it all, and I remember especially the smells of the art studio, a mixture of paint, clay and turpentine.
